AMASS Dry Gin is a celebration of both the abundant natural terroir and diverse cultural landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Crafted in Downtown L.A. by Master Distiller Morgan McLachlan, our Dry Gin is a citrus-forward, herbaceous spirit balanced with earthy umami notes from Reishi mushroom and lion's mane mushroom. Of the 29 organic botanicals inside the bottle, 11 come from California, with several growing in Morgan's own backyard.

The corn base spirit is distilled with indigenous botanicals like California bay and cascara sagrada to ground vibrant flavors such as hibiscus, cardamom, cacao, and ginger, painting a vivid palate of the rich multicultural fabric that is the sprit of the City of Angels.

Tasting Notes

NOSE

Vibrant and fresh, with a citrus-forward welcome.

PALATE

Citrus to the fore, supported by spicy notes of cardamom. California Bay Leaf provides an herbaceous quality on the middle of the palate. Gin opens with less heat on the front palate, but warms up to provide the necessary heat on the mid- and rear palate.

FINISH

Mushrooms and Long Pepper settle on the rear palate for a peppery finish with earthy undertones.

Juniper

Juniper (Juniperus communis) is the defining botanical in gin. In fact, the word gin itself is short for the Dutch word jenever, meaning juniper. A member of the Cupressaceae family, juniper berries give the spirit its signature piney, citrusy taste; essentially, they make gin taste like gin.

Coriander

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is an annual herb in the Apiaceae family native to regions spanning from Southern Europe and Northern Africa to Southwestern Asia. One of the oldest known spices, coriander was once considered an aphrodisiac and was often added to love potions.

Orris

Orris (Rhizoma iridis), a member of the Iridaceae family commonly called 'Queen Elizabeth Root,’ is the root of the flower iris (Iris germanica and Iris pallida) which grows primarily in rocky regions of the Mediterranean.

Lion's Mane Mushroom

Lion’s Mane Mushroom (Hericium erinaceus) is a type of fungus in the Hericaceae family native to North America, Europe, and Asia. Long lauded as a cure-all in Chinese medicine, the botanical possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and is purported to stimulate and enhance nerve cells.

Gimlet

Ingredients

2 oz AMASS Dry Gin
1 oz Lime Juice
¾ oz oz Simple Syrup

Recipe

Combine ingredients, shake vigorously with ice for 15 seconds, and strain into a coupe.

Sage of Enlightenment

Ingredients

2 oz Grapefruit Juice
1 oz Ginger & Sage Agave Syrup*
Soda Water, splash
Ice

Ginger & Sage Agave Syrup:
½ c Water
½ c Agave Syrup
2 1-inch Pieces of Ginger
¼ c Sage Leaves

Recipe

Microplane 1 1-inch piece of ginger, add to pot with agave syrup, sage, and water. For the remaining 1 inch of ginger, cut it up and add it into the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, before simmering for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain mixture into a mason jar, adding the larger ginger chunks in. Let it cool to room temperature before using.In a glass, add ginger and agave syrup, grapefruit juice and ice. Stir to combine. Top with soda water of choice and mix again.

Pumpkin Spice Fizz

Ingredients

2 oz AMASS Dry Gin
¾ oz Lemon Juice
¾ oz Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup*
1 Egg White
Pumpkin Spice, for garnish

*Make strong tea with a pumpkin spice tea and use tea in place of water to make 1:1 simple syrup.

Recipe

Add gin, lemon, simple syrup, and egg white to shake. Dry shake hard, without ice, for 10-15 seconds to emulsify egg white. Then add ice, shake hard for another 10 seconds, and strain into a Collins glass. Add ice, top with soda, and sprinkle pumpkin spice on top of the cocktail.

Hibs Don't Lie

Ingredients

2 oz AMASS Dry Gin
¾ oz Lemon Juice
¾ oz Hibiscus Honey Syrup

Hibiscus Honey Syrup:
1 part Strong Hibiscus Tea
2 parts Honey

Recipe

To make the hibiscus honey syrup, brew strong hibiscus tea and mix with honey until completely dissolved. Pour the syrup into a shaking tin along with the gin and lemon juice and shake with ice for 10-15 seconds or until the tin is ice cold. Strain into a coupe glass.

Kiwi Go Again

Ingredients

1½ oz AMASS Dry Gin
¾ oz Elderflower Liqueur
¾ oz Egg White
¾ oz Lemonade
½ Kiwi
Rosemary

Recipe

Muddle kiwi with elderflower liqueur in a cocktail shaker. Add gin, lemonade, egg white, and ice. Shake and strain into a rosemary-smoked coupe glass. Garnish with rosemary.

Ingredients

1½ oz AMASS Dry Gin
¾ oz Lemon Juice
¾ oz Lavender Simple Syrup
2-3 oz Sparkling Wine
Fresh Lavender, for garnish
Lemon, for garnish

Recipe

1. Juice your lemon 2. Add gin, lemon juice, lavender simple syrup, in your shaker with ice 4. Short shake to integrate ingredients 5. Strain into your chosen glassware 6. Top with sparkling wine 7. Add Ice 8. Garnish with lavender and lemon peel

Great Gin! Gifting issue:

I love your gin! I recently shipped a bottle to a friend for a Christmas gift but the gift note I added didn't get added to the shipment, so he wasn't sure who it was from. The shipping receipt also revealed the price. It would be great if you could improve the gifting feature in the future!

As good as gin, or any liquor, will ever get!

I have been in love with this product ever since I tried it. Best "head high" for a liquor I could ever imagine - must be the mushrooms. I genuinely have never had a liquor like this and doubt anything could replicate it. Please, don't EVER change this liquid gold. Just keep it the same and continue on for as long as I live!
